Redemption Guide

You've got your key — here's how to use it. This guide covers redeeming your code step by step, including what to do when the screen doesn't tell you which platform your key is for. If you get stuck at any point, we're here to help — jump to If your key doesn't work.

Not sure where your key redeems?

Most keys are for a specific store or platform. If the product page or your order doesn't say which one, here's how to work it out:

  • Check your order details. The platform is often part of the product name on your receipt or in your account.
  • Look at the shape of the code. Different stores use different code formats, and that's usually the quickest clue:
    • Steam — three groups of five characters (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX).
    • Xbox — 25 characters, in five groups of five.
    • PlayStation — 12 characters.
    • Nintendo — 16 characters.
    • Other stores vary, so treat the format as a hint, not a guarantee.
  • Still not sure? Don't guess and risk using the code in the wrong place. Contact Support with your order number and we'll tell you exactly where it redeems.

Redeeming on the common platforms

The steps are always the same idea: sign in, find the “redeem” option, and enter your code. Here's where to find it on each store.

Steam

  1. Open the Steam app (or go to store.steampowered.com and sign in).
  2. Select Games from the top menu, then Activate a Product on Steam — or click + Add a game at the bottom-left and choose Activate a Product on Steam.
  3. Follow the prompts and enter your code.
  4. The game is added to your library, ready to install.

PlayStation (PS4 / PS5)

  1. Open the PlayStation Store on your console.
  2. Select your profile, then Redeem Codes (you'll also find it toward the bottom of the Store menu).
  3. Enter your code and confirm.

Xbox

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, then go to the Store.
  2. Select Redeem (or open the menu and choose Redeem code).
  3. Enter your 25-character code. You can also redeem at microsoft.com/redeem or in the Xbox app.

Nintendo Switch

  1. Open the Nintendo eShop from your Home screen.
  2. Select your profile, then Redeem Code.
  3. Enter your 16-character code and confirm.

Epic Games

  1. Open the Epic Games Launcher (or go to epicgames.com and sign in).
  2. Select your account name, then Redeem Code.
  3. Enter your code. The game appears in your library.

GOG

  1. Sign in at gog.com (or open the GOG Galaxy app).
  2. Select your username, then Redeem code.
  3. Enter your code. Your game is DRM-free and yours to download.

Another store?

The pattern is the same almost everywhere — for example EA app, Ubisoft Connect, or Battle.net. Sign in, look for Redeem code or Activate a key in the account or store menu, and enter your code. If you can't find it, Contact Support and we'll point you to the right spot.

If your key doesn't work

Before anything else, a couple of quick checks that fix most problems:

  • Re-check the characters. It's easy to mix up a 0 (zero) and an O (letter), or a 1 and an I. Copy and paste if you can.
  • Make sure you're on the right platform. A code for one store won't work on another.
  • Check the region. Some keys are meant for a specific region. If yours won't redeem, your account region may not match — the store will usually tell you if that's the issue.
