You are about to type your card number into a website you have never bought from, to buy a string of characters that either works or doesn't. It is fair to want to know who you are dealing with first. Here is the whole answer, with nothing buried.

The Activation Guarantee

The part that actually matters

You choose. Not us. If your key doesn't work, you can have a replacement key, or you can have your money back on the card you paid with. We don't get to decide which, and we will never hand you store credit instead of your money for a key that failed.

That sentence exists because the opposite is the defining move of this category. The usual playbook is to make the refund technically available and practically unreachable — a claim window that starts at purchase instead of delivery, a "refund" that turns out to be site credit, a support queue that outlasts your patience. We are not going to do that, and we would rather say so in a sentence you can hold us to than in a badge.

We fund this ourselves

The guarantee is ours. It does not depend on whether we can recover anything from our supplier. If a key we sold you fails, that is our problem to solve and our money at risk — not a claim we pass upstream and ask you to wait on.

This is the whole reason to buy from a merchant instead of a marketplace. On a marketplace, when a key fails, you are in a dispute with an anonymous seller and the platform is the referee. Here, there is no seller to dispute with. There is just us, and we sold you the key.

What's covered

• A key that is invalid, already redeemed, duplicated, or simply doesn't work.
• A key that we sold as valid for your region and that fails purely on a region restriction. That's our error, and it's treated exactly like a key that didn't activate.
• A key that doesn't match what its product page said it was.
• An order that never arrives.

What isn't

• Buying a key labeled for a different region. The region is stated on every product page and confirmed again when you add to cart. If you knowingly buy a key for a region that isn't yours, the key isn't defective — it's doing exactly what the label said. Please read the label. We put it there in large type for a reason.
• Changing your mind after the code is revealed. A revealed key can't be un-revealed. Email us anyway — see below.

If you change your mind

Once a code has been revealed, we generally can't take it back. But email us. We may be able to offer you store credit as a goodwill gesture, worth about 10% more than the cash value — a $20 order becomes $22 in credit.

That is an offer, and it applies only to change-of-mind. It is not a substitute for anything you were owed. If a key actually failed to activate, you get your money back, full stop, and nobody will try to steer you into credit instead.

This activation guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not limit, replace, or exclude, any non-excludable statutory rights or consumer guarantees available to you under applicable local law.

How We Protect You

There are no third-party sellers here

Alt F4 is a first-party merchant of record. That is a dry phrase for something that matters a great deal: we are not a marketplace. Every key on this site was bought by us, is sold by us, and is stood behind by us. There is no seller ranking. There is no seller rating. There is nobody between you and us.

On a key marketplace, the site is a venue. Thousands of anonymous sellers list keys; the venue takes a cut and arbitrates the fights. When a key fails, you find out that the entity you paid and the entity responsible for the key are two different entities, and only one of them is reachable. Frequently the venue will sell you "buyer protection" as a separate line item — which is a fairly remarkable thing to be asked to pay extra for.

We don't sell you protection. There is nothing to protect you from here, because there is no third party. If a key fails, the company that sold it to you is the company that answers your email. That is the entire model, and it is the honest reason to pay us rather than save a dollar somewhere else.

Who we actually are

Alt F4 LLC is a limited liability company registered in the State of Missouri, United States, registered since 2023. We publish our legal name, our mailing address, and a support email that a person reads. We are not a brand name floating on top of an offshore shell, and you can verify every word of the preceding sentence with the Missouri Secretary of State.

We'll be straight with you about the other side of that: we are new, and we are small. We are not going to pretend to a decade of trading history we don't have, or show you a wall of reviews we haven't earned yet. The guarantee above is what we're offering instead of a reputation we haven't built. We think it is worth more than a badge, and it is certainly worth more than a fake one.

Where our keys come from

We buy our keys through Keybin, a business-to-business marketplace that verifies the identity and legal standing of every buyer on it, including us. We are a KYC-verified business customer there. We are not buying keys from strangers, and we are not letting strangers sell keys through us.

Now the part most sites in this category leave out, and which we are telling you plainly:

Alt F4 LLC is an independent commercial reseller of digital codes. We are not an authorized distributor, affiliate, partner, or licensee of Valve Corporation, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, or any other game publisher. Trademarks are used solely for nominative compatibility purposes. Keys do not include publisher-backed warranties or technical support.

We are not going to tell you our keys come "direct from the publisher," because they don't, and any store telling you that is either confused or lying. What we will tell you is this: we buy from a verified business channel, we check what we sell, and if a key doesn't work you get your money back from us — whatever the reason it didn't work. That last clause is doing real work. Read it again. It means the risk of anything going wrong upstream is ours, not yours.

What we tell you before you pay

• The region, on the product page. Every key. Stated plainly, not buried in a spec table below the fold.
• The platform the key activates on — Steam, EA App, Epic, Ubisoft Connect, and the rest. A key for one platform will not work on another, and we'd rather you know that here than find out at redemption.
• What you're actually buying — base game, DLC, or edition. DLC that needs a base game you don't own is a very common way to waste money, and we label it.
• The full price at checkout. Any payment processing fee is shown as its own line, not folded into the price and not sprung on you at the last step.

None of this is generous. It is the minimum. We're listing it because in this category it is, remarkably, a differentiator.

Fraud Prevention

How it actually works

Every order runs through fraud screening before any money moves. Two checks are not optional for us — they are required by our payment processor, and we could not turn them off if we wanted to:

• Address verification (AVS). The billing address you enter must match the address your bank has on file. If it does not match, the sale does not go through.
• Security code (CVV). Required on every online order.

On top of that, orders are screened for the patterns that indicate a stolen card. Most orders pass, capture payment, and deliver in minutes. The ones that do not pass are held.

Why a held order is a safe order

A held order has not been charged and has not been delivered. Our system only releases a key once a payment has actually completed — and a held order never gets that far. It sits, untouched, until a person looks at it.

That matters more here than in most stores. A delivered key cannot be un-delivered. Once a code has been revealed, it is out — there is no package to intercept and nothing to send back. So the moment before payment completes is the only moment where a fraudulent order can be stopped at no cost to anyone. That is where we stop it.

Why this protects you, not just us

If someone tries to use your card here, the order has to pass screening before anything is delivered or charged. A caught order is an order where nothing was lost — not a cleanup after the fact.

If your own order is held, that is not an accusation. It is a routine check, and we will email you the moment it happens — telling you why, and when to expect your key. We aim to resolve held orders within 12 hours, and we will not leave one sitting longer than one business day.

If you see a charge you don’t recognize

Email us before you call your bank. support@altf4.codes. We can look at an order and reverse it same-day. A bank dispute takes weeks and we both end up worse off. This isn’t us discouraging you from disputing a genuinely unauthorized charge — that’s your right and we won’t argue with it. It’s us saying the fast path is usually the direct one.

Every refund claim is reviewed by a person. We don't auto-refund at any order value — not because we distrust you, but because an automated refund loop is something people farm, and the cost of that lands on honest customers eventually.

Payment Security

We never see your card number

Your card details are entered into Shopify's checkout and processed through Authorize.net, a Visa company. They are handled by those providers' systems. They do not land on ours.

Alt F4 never sees, never handles, and never stores your card number. We could not show it to you if you asked. What we see is what any merchant sees: your name, your order, and whether the payment went through.

Shopify's checkout is certified to PCI DSS Level 1 — the card industry's highest tier. To be precise about whose claim that is: that is Shopify's certification of Shopify's infrastructure, not a certification of us. We are telling you where your card data goes and who is accountable for it there. We are not borrowing someone else's badge and wearing it.

What we won't tell you

We're not going to put a row of green shields on this page. You have seen those shields on every store that ever took your money and vanished, and you have correctly learned to ignore them.

We're also not going to tell you we are "100% secure," because nobody is, and anyone who says so is either lying or hasn't thought about it. What we can tell you is exactly where your card data goes and exactly who handles it — which is the only part we actually control, and it is a claim you can check.

Our charge appears as ALT F4 LLC, followed by a phone number and MO (Missouri, where we're registered).

If you see a charge you don't recognize, that's us — but email support@altf4.codes anyway and we'll pull the order up. We would much rather answer that email than have you file a dispute over a charge that was yours all along.
