Product Overview:
ASTRONEER is a sandbox adventure game developed by System Era Softworks. Players explore and reshape distant worlds, operating within a solar system featuring a variety of procedurally generated planets and moons. The core gameplay loop involves exploration, resource gathering, base building, and vehicle construction.
Gameplay Mechanics:
- Exploration and Discovery: Traverse diverse planetary biomes, encountering unique flora, fauna, and environmental hazards.
- Terraforming and Building: Utilize the primary terrain tool to deform and reshape the landscape. Dig craters, build mountains, and extract resources directly from the environment. Construct modular bases, research stations, and industrial facilities.
- Resource Management: Collect various raw materials such as compound, resin, organic, and laterite. Process these resources into more advanced components using printers and refiners.
- Crafting and Research: Develop new technologies and equipment through a research system. Unlock blueprints for tools, vehicles, and base modules.
- Vehicles and Travel: Construct rovers, tractors, and shuttles for ground and interplanetary travel. Manage power and oxygen supplies during expeditions.
- Power Systems: Generate power for bases and equipment using solar panels, wind turbines, and other generators. Connect modules and devices via power conduits.
- Oxygen Management: Maintain an oxygen supply for the player character using tethers connected to oxygenators, or through portable oxygen tanks.
