Gothic II: Gold Edition provides access to both the base game, Gothic II, and its official expansion pack, Night of the Raven. This RPG offers a single-player experience set within a medieval fantasy world. Players assume the role of an unnamed protagonist who previously averted a major catastrophe in the Kingdom of Myrtana.
The narrative of Gothic II begins shortly after the events of the first game. The hero, having seemingly defeated the Sleeper, awakens to find a new threat emerging. Dragons, previously thought extinct, have returned and begun to lay waste to the island of Khorinis. The protagonist is tasked with uncovering the source of this new invasion and finding a way to combat these powerful creatures.

The expansion also increases the overall difficulty and introduces new items, weapons, and armor, expanding the gameplay duration and depth of the original game.
