Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planetary surfaces. Players build space stations, planetary outposts, spacecraft of various sizes (from small fighters to large cargo ships), and planetary vehicles using a block-based system. The game features a realistic volumetric physics engine where every object can be assembled, disassembled, damaged, and destroyed. The core gameplay revolves around resource gathering, refining, and manufacturing components to construct structures and vehicles. Players can mine asteroids and planets for raw materials like iron, nickel, silicon, and platinum. These resources are then processed in refineries and assemblers to create components like steel plates, interior plates, and various electronic components. These components are essential for constructing all in-game objects.
