Description

A Rite from the Stars is a 3D point and click adventure game. You play as Kirm, a mute boy from the Makoa tribe on the Mystical Island of Kaikala. Chosen by the Stars, Kirm must complete a difficult rite of passage to reach adulthood. You explore various locations including jungles, caves, a volcano, and the Temple of Yesterday.

You must master the three paths of Wisdom, Courage, and Spirit in any order. Each path features different mechanics, characters, and story elements. You are joined by your Power Meerkat companion, Mirk, and your Guiding Star, Hoku. You face traps and puzzles, manipulate ancient machinery, and play coconut dodgeball. Your choices lead to one of six possible endings. The game features music from the Organum Chorus.

Reviews

“A Rite From The Stars isn’t simply emulating the past and I’m grateful for that” Rock, Paper, Shotgun “Largely, A Rite from the Stars has a very consistent feeling, a game that is confident with what it is and was made with great attention paid to the details.” GamesReviews “This coming of age tale captures a level of charm not often seen outside of Disney movies and Nintendo games. It’s the kind of game that can only be made by people who genuinely appreciate video games as a storytelling medium, capable of engrossing a player like no other medium could.” Review Fix
