Afghanistan '11

In Afghanistan '11, you command United States army operations in Afghanistan during the year 2011. This strategy simulation focuses on counter-insurgency and guerrilla warfare. Your primary objective involves gaining the hearts and minds of the local population rather than simple combat. You provide security for civilians, work to persuade villagers to reject the Taliban, and isolate militia leaders.

The environment contains mountains and natural caves that serve as cover for rebels. You utilize technology, including drones, to locate opium plantations or enemy units before calling in artillery or air support. You must protect your ground units and helicopters from threats like IEDs, rocket launchers, and ambushes. Maintaining the safety and supply lines of your troops preserves morale and support from home.
