Description

Alea Jacta Est is a historical strategy game focused on the Roman civil wars. You engage in conflicts involving Rome, Sertorius, and Mithridates. The game features five campaigns spanning from 87 BC to 197 AD. You manage an economic and diplomatic balance with your neighbors while you build and train armies to maneuver and engage the enemy.

The game uses the AGE engine to cover Europe, Northern Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe. This area includes more than 2,800 regions with cities, roads, fortifications, and various weather types. You utilize the Ancient Command System to represent historical army command. You also use a construction system to purchase forces and make decisions on the map. The game includes hundreds of historical leaders, units, events, and a combat system for Ancient warfare.

Reviews

“Alea Jacta Est is a big, wonderful game that puts all other Ancient-period games in the shade. Some players may flinch at its complexity and processing time, but connoisseurs of the period will recognize its brilliance.” 94% – Armchair General “If you are into Ancient strategy and want something that is very accessible, easy to play and yet ironically has massive depth and complexity to it, then I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent game” GrogHeads “If you like strategy games of this type and also like the era in question, there is no doubt, don’t miss out on Alea Jacta Est!” 4.5/5 – StrategyPrime
