Description

In Battle Brothers, you command a mercenary company within a medieval fantasy world. You pursue fame and fortune by choosing your path, hiring recruits, and selecting which contracts to fulfill. You also decide how to train and equip your men as you lead them through a procedurally generated open world campaign. The environment is fractured, with ancient empires long gone. You face threats including rising dead, Greenskin hordes, and roaming bandits while Noble Houses prepare for conflict.

You travel in real-time across varied landscapes to visit settlements and strongholds. These locations provide opportunities to gain rumors, hire new recruits, or trade loot for equipment. You speak with local lords to accept dynamically generated contracts. You must decide whether to hunt dangerous monsters or pursue local thieves.

Reviews

“The complete Battle Brothers is still the mercenary game to beat.” Rock, Paper, Shotgun “Combat in Battle Brothers is what you get when Game of Thrones has a one-night stand with X-COM: turn-based, hexagonal, and everything looks noble until someone sews a dog’s head onto a corpse.” PC Gamer “A deliciously low-fantasy mercenary manager that is refreshingly free of trope-ridden kings and kingdoms, Overhype Studios' hex-based combat game is immediately accessible, balanced by brutality and permadeath.” PCGamesN
