Description
Combat Mission Cold War takes place during the years 1979 to 1982. This era represents a transition for NATO and Soviet Warsaw Pact militaries as they move from industrialized warfare toward the modern digital battlefield. The game functions as a sandbox for testing various military scenarios. You can explore how different historical vehicles perform against each other in specific tactical situations. For instance, you might command M-60A3s or M1s against T-80s, or use M-60A1s and M-60A2s against T-64s or T-62s.
The simulation focuses on the Fulda Gap in West Germany. You also examine the development of AirLand Battle concepts and the early years of the US National Training Center. This includes a rotation against the NTC OPFOR, which is a Soviet style formation.
