Dying Light is a first-person action survival game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world filled with flesh-hungry zombies. You navigate a city ruined by a mysterious virus epidemic. As you explore, you scavenge for supplies and craft various weapons to confront hordes of the infected. You must also discover the difficult choices involved in your secret mission, weighing your loyalty to superiors against the need to protect survivors.

You roam the city with freedom, using parkour to scale buildings and reach distant areas. You engage in combat using your environment, different weapon types, and unique abilities. The world features a day and night cycle where you shift from a hunter to the hunted after sundown. You face the coming threat or run away.
