Description
War has engulfed the kingdom of Myrtana after Orcish hordes invaded human lands. To supply his army with weapons, the king requires massive amounts of ore. Those who break the law are sent to the penal colony of Khorinis to labor in the mines. This area is enclosed by a magical barrier with a diameter of two kilometers. While you can enter this sphere, you cannot leave.
Inside, the prisoners have revolted and split into three rivaling factions. You are cast into this prison and must survive by forming volatile alliances. The world is alive as characters eat, sleep, work, and fight. You have access to a large variety of spells and weapons for your character. Gothic 1 provides over 50 hours of gameplay.
