Description
Roots of Yggdrasil is a roguelike city-builder set in the aftermath of Ragnarok. You guide Sunna and her tribe of Vikings as they traverse the Nine Realms of Norse Mythology. Your goal is to explore a broken World Tree and ascend to the top of Yggdrasil. Within this perpetual time loop, you construct settlements while managing a race against time to escape the Ginnungagap.
You refine your strategy by collecting artifacts and managing a deck of building cards. This drafting system determines which structures are available during each expedition. You also interact with a cast of Scions who provide unique playstyles and modifiers. The Holt serves as your permanent, customizable hub where you unlock upgrades. Procedurally generated islands, events, and encounters shape your journey.
