SimplePlanes allows you to construct aircraft by connecting components, creating wing segments, and mounting engines. Once your design is complete, you can enter the cockpit to test its performance using realistic physics. Every design choice, including weight distribution, thrust, lift, and drag, is continuously calculated during flight. Parts can break off during flight if the craft is over-stressed or strikes an object, though you can continue flying with missing wings.

You can access over 100,000 aircraft created by the community, ranging from WW2 bombers to sci-fi spacecraft. The game features a sandbox mode with no restrictions on parts. You can also participate in challenges like landing on aircraft carriers, escorting bombers, or racing through courses. You can upload your own designs and reach the gold builder rank.
