Description
In STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R, you navigate a science fantasy world presented in a 2.5D aesthetic that blends 3D environments with 2D pixel characters. The story begins on Space Date 366, when a Federation officer arrives on a mystical planet. You choose between Claude or Rena as your protagonist, and your selection changes your perspective, your available allies, and the eventual ending. You interact with party members using the Private Actions system to grow relationships.
You engage in fast-paced, real-time combat where you strategically defeat foes. You can break enemies by dealing continuous damage and use Assault Action commands for follow-up attacks. You also manage party progression by selecting skills like Cooking, Art, or Alchemy and use an item creation system to craft equipment.
