The Citadel

The Citadel is a brutal, old-school shooter that focuses on action. As a Battlesister, you descend into the depths of The Citadel to defeat a sleeping god. You fight through six episodes containing thirty levels and six secret stages. Throughout your journey, you encounter six fearsome bosses and a diverse range of enemies, including axe-throwing cultists, suicide drones, mecha tanks, and flamethrower troopers.

You carry fourteen weapon types featuring secondary fire functions and three single-use special weapons. You can kick light-weight enemies to stun them or push them into lava or pits. Some weapons allow for upgrades or switches to superior versions. Gameplay relies on projectiles rather than hitscanners. You have unlimited continues, and hub areas provide respite. Optional features include leaning and weapon jamming.
