Description
The EMD FL9 is a hybrid electro-diesel locomotive model. It was designed to run under both diesel and electric power to accommodate the electrified lines running under the East River and into Grand Central Terminal. This locomotive served New York commuter lines for more than 40 years. It was ordered in 1956 to operate on the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. The design was created to replace aging ALCO DL109 and Boxcab Electric locomotives.
In Train Simulator: New Haven FL9 Loco Add-On, you can operate this locomotive in New Haven McGinnis heritage livery. The model includes in-cab signaling. You can use this locomotive on any Quick Drive enabled route. This locomotive was retired under Metro-North ownership in 2009.
