Description

Scanner Sombre is a 3D horror cave exploration game. You navigate a hidden world where darkness is your foe. You use a LIDAR scanner as your lifeline to illuminate the unseen. By casting light into the abyss, you slowly map the cave around you. The scanner uses color-coded beams to help you perceive depth. This visual style is built around vibrant, rainbow-colored point clouds.

The story unfolds through the environment as you explore. You find remnants of the past and strange symbols that suggest a deeper narrative. The silence is broken only by echoes and hesitant footsteps. You uncover hidden dangers and untold mysteries lurking in the dark.

Reviews

“A beautiful but short-lived expedition that left me wanting more of its best ideas.” 80% – PC Gamer “A short, sharp experimental adventure built around one devastatingly clever central mechanic, it's a pointed antithesis to its systems-heavy predecessor.” Eurogamer
